Kenosha.com’s Pet of the Week is Mula, a sweet, easygoing pup looking for her next home through the Wisconsin Humane Society Kenosha Campus.
Mula is almost 8 years old and weighs in at 67 pounds — a steady, settled presence who knows her people and isn’t afraid to show it. She already knows how to sit and give paw, which her care team says she loves showing off to anyone willing to stop and say hello.
Why Mula Is This Week’s Pet of the Week
What makes Mula stand out as this week’s pick is simple: she genuinely enjoys being around people. Staff at the Kenosha Campus describe her as affectionate and food-motivated, the kind of dog who settles in fast once she trusts you. She’s been a little overlooked in the shelter, which is part of why the team wanted to spotlight her.
Mula does best as the only pet in the house. She isn’t a match for homes with other dogs or cats, so a family or individual looking for a one-on-one companion is exactly what she needs.
What’s Included With Mula’s Adoption
Like every dog adopted through WHS, Mula is already spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped — the basics are covered before she ever leaves the building. WHS is also letting adopters name their own fee for Mula right now, an option meant to help dogs like her, who’ve waited a little longer than most, find a home sooner.
Families who aren’t sure Mula is the right fit can also ask about WHS’s short-term tryout program, which allows a dog to go home for a trial stretch before adoption paperwork is finalized.
How to Meet Mula in Kenosha
Mula is available now at the WHS Kenosha Campus, located at 7811 60th Ave. Adoption hours run Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 1 to 6 p.m.; the campus is closed Thursdays and Sundays.
Anyone interested in meeting Mula in person can stop by during those hours, or visit wihumane.org/adopt for more information on her and the other animals currently available for adoption.
