Community State Bank is accepting applications for its fourth annual LEAD Scholarship Awards, open to registered exhibitors at the Walworth County Fair who have shown a strong commitment to service and leadership. The application deadline is September 14, 2026.
LEAD Scholarship Walworth County Fair: What It Is and Who Can Apply
The LEAD Scholarship Awards are grounded in four principles: Leadership, Expectation, Achievement, and Dedication. Community State Bank evaluates applicants on community involvement, future aspirations, fair participation, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
To be eligible, applicants must be registered exhibitors at the 2026 Walworth County Fair. They must also be either a Class of 2027 high school senior or a post-secondary student — at a university, college, or technical school — enrolled in the 2026–27 academic year.
How to Apply
Students can apply online at csb.bank/lead-award-2026.html. Along with the application, each student must submit either a written essay of 500 words or fewer, or a video of three minutes or less, addressing one of three prompts.
The first prompt asks applicants to reflect on a personal experience volunteering or working on a community or agricultural project, and how that experience shaped their character and career goals. The second asks what message they would share with young people to connect urban communities with rural farming traditions. The third invites applicants to describe a specific tradition or exhibit at the Walworth County Fair that preserves local heritage and inspires the next generation.
Completed applications are due by September 14, 2026. Recipients will be notified in the fall and featured in a story published at CSB.bank.
Last Year’s Recipients and Award Totals
In 2025, eleven area students shared $8,500 in LEAD Scholarship awards. That group included Caylah Boldt, Payton Bunger, Aubrey Gahns, Madison Kegley, Wyatt Nixon, Ben Reed, Sarah Reed, Emily Schmidt, Mariah Stewart, Ava Stone, and Emma Syverson.
